Leaf kicking and muddy puddles

What a week! I survived my first week back at work with no major disasters.

Although it's a physical job it was the mental and emotional aspect that took its toll and left me feeling washed out..

Yesterday I managed to get my measured mile down to 16 minutes and today was a great day of leaf kicking, splashing in muddy puddles and generally enjoying life.

First you find some leaves

Then you give them a good kicking

You can always substitute muddy puddles for leaves

Get as muddy as you like so long as dad gets a hug

Having to dig a bit deeper...

This week is proving to be harder than I first thought. It's not the physical side of things, it's the trying to organise the routine that is a bit daunting.
It would be only too easy to slip back into rushing around again but it ain't gonna happen.

Just a quick one If you haven't already looked then check out UK Hiking Well worth a look

Back to work

Another busy weekend.
I spent most of it hunting down various things that I thought I'd put in a "safe place" (Is it only men who do that?). Then Yesterday I got my walk in by going to the supermarket and carrying the turkey home in my rucksack. Imagine the fun I would have had if it were a live one.

On a more serious note today was my first day back at work. Funny how the old routine seems so strange. I think it might take me a few days or even longer to get up to speed. The trouble when you work on your own is that it's all or nothing. and quite frankly I can't afford to stay off with sick pay it's a pittance. I may live to regret it but time will tell.

Now I have to get my head round this infernal machine and add some links to my profile....

wish me luck.

Well at least it's a start!

First Christmas decorations.

Winter walking

Had a great walk today in Belton Park again.
It was quite cold so it took me a few minutes to get going. The deer are used to people being around so they're not really phased by anybody walking past and you can get quite close.

He was not worried at all

At the top of the climb
I really must learn to look out for my shadow

The sun on the icy pond captured the mood perfectly

The best place to stop for a cuppa.

It's been a bit of a busy weekend! just have time to post some pics and get away. might get back later.
Saturday We did the Santa Run here in Grantham in aid if the BHF. They said it was 2.5 km but in actual fact my GPS said it was 2.5 MILES.
There were no Elf and Safety issues  and the rain held off.
I'm feeling quite proud of myself at the moment and hope to be able to do more.

Still going strong at the finish
My "winner's" medal

How could I forget!
I had some help from Scamp too.
